The Cannonball Starts Today

Well today is the start of the 20212 Cannonball Coast to Coast Race, I congratulate everyone who was able to put together a running bike and the needed capitol to participate.  I really wanted to ride in the race but not this time.  No running bike and not enough capitol.  I am trying to get up to the Bay Area to see the end of the race.

1962 BSA Spitfire

Fred Lohse's 1962 BSA A10 Spitfire Scrambler

I have a friend who is selling a '62 BSA Spitfire project bike (not the one pictured).  I think they are one of the coolest bikes ever built, part of it may the lack of any extras such as headlight, taillight, etc.  The only thing stopping me from picking it up is that it has the wrong frame, maybe not such a big deal.  We'll see ?

Pure Class !!

1961 Harley Davidson Panhead Project

I picked up this '61 Panhead project the other day, it is in pretty decent condition for all it's been through.  Someone cut the tank mounts off , a pretty common alteration back in the day.  I have been guilty of doing the same when I was younger.

The tank mounts can be welded back on or build it with a smaller tank.  The original fenders have surface rust but are almost dead straight.

Below are a couple of bikes to give you an idea of the possibilities, I think I will sell it on to someone who can use it.  If interested give me a call @ 951-992-9839   Asking around $2500.00,  give or take a nickle,  with all the parts.  There is also a seat included.

Indian Dragster

This is one of the coolest drag bikes ever, I believe it started as a 1937 Sport Scout.  It was built and raced by Stan Dishong of Vallejo Calif.  I have had it on here before but it sticks in my mind because I used to ogle it every time I went into Stan's shop as a kid.

I need to get more particulars as to engine size and what kind of speeds it turned out and will upgrade as I go.

It is a '37 Indian Scout Dragster that Stan put the first ever racing slick on. This was back in 1953. The Indian ran mid 11-sec runs day in and day out. A truly wild an amazing bike.  It evidently went 118 mph in the quarter.  I wonder what it would have done at El Mirage ?
