Cannonball on Harley JD ???

I have been looking for a 29 101 Scout or Chief to do the 2012 Cannonball Run.  The prices are so atronomical that I may have to rethink the whole thing.  I found a very good 1926 JD that has a lot of work already done on it.  The Harley has a 61 inch motor as opposed to the 45 Scout.  The Chief has a 74 inch motor but from what I have read they have a lot of vibration.  Even Du-Pont said the Harley was smoother than the Indian and he was the president of Indian !
We'll see.  The trip is going to be very expensive even with a $15K dollar bike let alone paying $25-35K for just the motorcycle.

Lady On The Wall

A lot of women rode the Wall of Death back in the 30's and 40's.  The idea was, and still is that the ladies attract spectators.  The list of women wall riders is lengthy with names like Doris Gray, Jean Holland, Crazy Clare, Betty Ellis, Julie French and more recently Samantha Morgan.

When you fell on the wall it didn't matter which gender you were, you stll broke bones and sustained injuries. There are still some women riders out there, my hat is off to the ladies !

The Late Great Indian Larry

Indian Larry was a truly unique individual.  He had a rough past, did time for bank robbery, was a professional body builder, a carny and trick rider.  He built some very cool bikes and said he liked the " mechanicalness" of a good clean chopper.  Just as he really seemed to make it he died doing the trick shown above.  R.I.P.
