E Bay Saga Continues

It turns out that the very next day after I called the post office in Mercer, WI that I received the payment back from the buyer.  I received an e-mail with the payment as follows "hi- i live in upper wisconsin- we still have the pony express here;lol,,, and the workers came from JERRYS KID"S------ long story short-- the item was found at the post office and i have refunded your money- that EBAY refunded me,,, i have the item now!! thanks"

Remember, the Post Master in Mercer said that the package had been delivered for a fact.  There is plainly some under handed transactions taking place in that particulat post office and I will follow through with charges with the Post Master General.  Mean while we will see how E Bay handles this after threatening to close my account !

E Bay Rant !!

I have been using E Bay to sell motorcycles and parts for 12 years and have always tried to treat my clients fairly and have refunded money several times to make a person happy with the transaction.

Recently I sold a Harley WL carburetor and manifold to a Donna Collins in Mercer, WI.  After the deal was paid for I shipped the package to them, after a month they said they did not recieve the package.  I tracked it and the Postal Service stated it was undeliverable as addressed.

I sent the buyer my phone number and the tracking number and got no response.  Mean while E Bay decides that the buyer should get a full refund which THEY then sent to the buyer and then proceeded to state that I owed them the full rended amount.  They then threatened to close my account.

I called the post office in Mercer, WI and spoke to the post master and as soon as I gave the recipients name he gave me the address and post office box of Donna Collins.  She and associates are known to swindle people and he said he knows for a fact that the package was delivered.  He then offered to process charges with the Post Master General on my behalf as he has had it with this group of individuals.

In conclusion, E Bay has gotten so fat and arrogant on the money we generated as sellers that they now completely favor the buyer and take no consideration of the sellers.  It was the sellers who made E Bay all of their money, without an item to sell there is no transaction.  They now charge around 4% on the sale of your item and another 4% on the Pay Pal transaction.  Pay Pal is a part of E Bay and they feel that they are now in a position to rob us blind and handle our funds as THEY see fit.  I am about through with them and will look for other ways to do business in the future !

Vincent Reborn as Norvin

I sold this Vincent / Norvin project a couple of years ago to a guy named David.  I was under the impression that the engine was built and ready to go, big mistake. David rebuilt the entire bike and found out that the engine, who was built by a supposed Vincent guru, was junk.  He said the only thing he reused was the shell of the engine !!
He really did a nice job on this bike and is commended for putting another Vincent back on the road.

Finished the Norton

Well it took long enough but I finally got the Norton Commando on the road.  It still needs a few things but overall it's a pretty nice bike.  I am going to sell it as I need to clear up a few bills so please see the work done below.

: Replaced the tires with Dunlop Road Master TT 4.10 tires

: The rear rim was beyond saving so a new Devon WM-2 x 19 rim was freshly laced up by Buchanan’s with stainless spokes and nipples

: I replaced both fenders with stainless fenders, the front is a repop and the rear is an original.

 : New rear brakes

: The front Norton-Lockheed caliper is freshly built with racing pads.  The front brake reservoir, lever and brake line are all new upgrades to improve the not so great front brakes that are stock.  The lever bolts up to the existing switch gear.

 : New low handlebars.

: The existing gauges were damaged so I replaced them with Smiths instruments.  I noticed the speedo is not funtioning but I will look into it.

:  It has an original steel tank with real nice original paint.

: New anti-sump valve.  New, upgraded petcocks that don’t leak.

: I replaced a bunch of other small items and spent hours cleaning this machine up, it is a very nice Norton that looks very presentable but is not a show bike.

It runs good and shifts through all the gears as it should, of course all fluids have been changed.

I have the original paperwork plus a bill of sale when I bought it. I will look into titleing it in my name if that is of any help or you can do it.

Asking around $8500.00 for the bike. The Norton market is still strong, check the results from the 2013 Las Vegas Mid America Auctions
