101 Scout Colors

I have really been thinking about painting my 1928 101 Scout a different color than red on red.  I believe that is the correct color but I like the black bikes as well as the black and red or the black and cream.  To me a motorcycle always looks best with a black frame and components and then add a little color and make it pop.  1931 may have been the beginning of the black Scouts and I am using modified '31 handlebars, Indian face horn and John Brown headlight because it looks the best to me.  I am curious as to the effect on value, if it is done to the highest quality why should the value suffer ?

I don't remember where all the pictures came from as I get them from Google images and store them until I need them.  If one of the bikes or pictures  is yours please be happy for one more spot on the world wide web !

Triumph Dragster

Yes indeed, a very clean little drag bike.  I have started down this road twice and no doubt three times is the charm.

101 Scout Racer on E-Bay

1931 INDIAN 101 SCOUT WILLIAM KELLY T.T. RACED / CLEM MURDAUGH

THIS IS A GREAT PIECE OF HISTORY. I BOUGHT IT ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO FROM THE GENTLEMAN WHO BOUGHT IT FROM ANOTHER GENTLEMAN THAT BOUGHT IT FROM THE KELLY FAMILY. THIS IS ONE OF THREE BIKES THAT HAD SURFACED AND ARE IN COLLECTIONS AND OWNED AND RACED BY WILLIAM KELLY. WILLIAM KELLY WAS BORN IN 1920 AND PASSED AWAY IN 1989. THIS 101 WAS THE ONLY BIKE USED FOR T.T. RACING, THE OTHER TWO WERE USED FOR 1/2 MILE. WILLIAM KELLY RACED PREWAR & POST WAR UNTIL THE EARLY 50'S. KELLY WAS A WELDER FOR A SHORT TIME, AND AFTER WORLD WAR II HE OWNED A BICYCLE AND MOTORCYCLE SHOP.

Motorcycle Sales

In this day of high tech savvy individuals there is not much call for consignment sales, however, even with E-Bay and all the other inter net options there is still a certain amount of experience needed to get top dollar for your motorcycle or collection of motorcycles.

If anyone in the Southern California area has the need to sell an individual bike or a collection I may be of assistance.  I do charge between 5-10% depending on the sale price and I do require possession of the bike during the consignment period.  I do this to avoid any misunderstanding between the buyer and seller.  I handle all shipping details and hand you a check for the agreed upon amount.  If you have a bike valued at $10k or more this may work to your advantage.

I don't rightly recall where this picture came from but I really like the bluebird.  Sometimes simplicity goes a lot further than extravagance.

Salty Little Triumph

I believe this bike was built by Low Brow Customs to race at Bonneville, this must have been last year.  I see where they are building a dual engine pre-unit to run this year.  I have done business with these guys over the years and they are really top notch.  Good luck at Bonneville !

A Very Special Sportster

This Sportster is for sale on E Bay right now and is really a treat, check out the aluminum cylinders and heads as well as the custom built hydraulic clutch.  This bike was built with apparent care and would make someone a very cool little scooter !

A Happy couple

This picture has floated around on the web for a while, this is what it's about.  Enjoy the ride.

Happy Birthday Laurie

Laurie and the '48 Chief

My wife Laurie and I have been together a long time and I appreciate everything she does, for example I have had a living room full of motorcycles with no complaints.  When we were young I always had at least one bike in the house.  We had one in the bedroom and one in the living room of a miniscule one bedroom apartment.  I don't really even remember her saying anything about it, then or now.  That is not to even mention all the moves we have made in the last 10 years and all the long hours I worked when I was a firefighter.

She has always been a good friend, Happy Birthday (nope, I'm not telling).
